Sérgio Leite, an executive with a degree in metallurgical engineering and advanced management specialization from MIT (USA) and IMD (Switzerland), carries a deep-rooted passion for coffee. The grandson of a small Arabica coffee producer, he decided eight years ago to honor his family legacy by acquiring a property in the mountainous region of Espírito Santo, in southeastern Brazil—500 km from Rio de Janeiro and 200 km from Minas Gerais. There, he embarked on the realization of a lifelong dream: becoming an Arabica coffee producer, just like his grandfather.
With a visionary approach, Sérgio invested in technology, selected cultivars suited to the region's terroir, and worked alongside specialized agronomists. The privileged natural environment, with native forests and abundant water sources, became an ally in his pursuit of high-quality coffees, known for their citrus notes and refined sensory profile. Fazenda Canaã, spanning 80 hectares—30% of which are covered by preserved forest—sits at an altitude of approximately 700/950 meters, providing ideal conditions for cultivation.
The farm’s name pays homage to the biblical Land of Canaan, a symbol of fertility and abundance. Inspired by this legacy, He cultivate yellow-fruited varieties such as Catucaí and Arara, currently covering 5 hectares. With a commitment to environmental sustainability and continuous assessment of cultivar performance, he is expanding it’s planted area while maintaining our relentless pursuit of excellence.
Today, Fazenda Canaã produces around 300 sacks of coffee per year, with a harvest period that extends from March to September. More than just growing coffee, Sérgio Leite cultivates a story of dedication, tradition, and innovation—turning a dream into reality and delivering to the market beans that embody the essence of the land and the passion of those who believe in the power of an exceptional cup of coffee.
